Diabète Campus

Your data, explained simply

A short, clear version of our privacy policy, written to actually be read. The full version (in French) is right here, and it is the one that counts.

In this app you write down things that are nobody's business but yours: your glucose readings, your doses, sometimes your mood or what is on your mind. You have the right to know exactly what we do with it. Here it is, straight up.

Who can read what you write?

Nobody. Not your parents, not your doctor, not us. Your logbook is yours. We don't read it, and we have no reason to.

The only exception is what you choose to post in the Cafeteria: there, what you write is read by the people sitting at your table. That's normal, it's what a cafeteria is for. But keep in mind that you can't know who is behind a nickname.

If a parent approved your sign-up, that doesn't give them access to your logbook. They said yes so you could have an account, not so they could read what's in it. We decided this on purpose.

If your parent withdraws their consent, your account is suspended: you can't add anything to it, but you have 30 days to download all your data. Your parent can change their mind during that time. Without new consent, your account is then deleted. And from your 16th birthday, you don't need anyone's consent anymore.

Where is your data stored?

On servers in France, with hosting providers specially certified to store health data. It doesn't leave for other countries.

Only one thing is an exception, and only if you agree to it: when you take a photo of your meal to estimate the carbs, the photo is sent to an artificial intelligence that looks at it. You never have to use it, and if you say no, you can still scan barcodes.

If you are under 16, this feature is closed: your photo goes nowhere. Barcode scanning stays open to everyone.

Do we sell your data?

No. Never. We don't sell it, rent it or trade it. There are no ads in the app, and no advertising trackers.

The app lives off the subscriptions of those who choose one, not off selling what you write.

Does the app tell you what to do?

No, and that's on purpose. Diabète Campus is not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose anything, it never tells you what dose to take, and it doesn't decide anything for you. It sorts, it counts, it reminds you of things. That's all.

For anything to do with your treatment, it's your doctor or diabetes team who decides with you. Never an app, and never someone you met in the Cafeteria.

What you can demand, at any time

You don't need anyone's permission for this. Write to us at contact@diabetecampus.com and we reply within a month, usually much sooner.

The one thing you can't change on your own

Your date of birth. It decides what you have access to: some parts of the app are for adults only, others for 16-17 year olds. If everyone could change it freely, those limits wouldn't protect anyone.

If it's wrong, write to us: we'll ask for an ID, correct it, and destroy the ID straight away without keeping a copy.

If something is wrong

A message in the Cafeteria makes you uncomfortable? Report it in the app, and talk to an adult you trust.

If what you're carrying becomes too heavy, you don't have to face it without help. In the app, your Life notebook shows the helplines of your country, free and confidential. If you are in danger right now, call 112 (in Europe). Nobody will judge you.

And if you think we haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to the CNIL, the French authority that oversees this (www.cnil.fr), or to the data protection authority of your own country.
